Fiat 500L Four-Door Officially Coming to Geneva

It is no longer a rumor that Fiat is building a four-door version of the 500, called the 500L. The 500L will debut at the Geneva Motor Show on March 6. The 'L' in the name stands for large, according to Fiat. It will join the cabrio, Abarth and standard car in the 500 range.

Fiat says that 500L will blends the B- and C-segments by offering MPV passenger room in a small car. The car is 414 cm long, 178 cm wide and 166 cm high. That makes it nearly 60cm longer and 20cm taller than a standard 500.

Fiat will put the 500L on sale in the last quarter of 2012 with the Twinair, 1.4 liter petrol and 1.3 liter diesel as engine options, and it will be built in Kragujevac, Serbia.

Hmm, not sure if I like it. Looks a bit too much like a Fiat Panda to me...

Yeah, I agree. It's pretty ugly. The rear 3/4 view is just...yuck.

I don't know if these are official pictures, or if they are artist rendering. It looks a lot like a 'Photoshop' leveraged from a Citroen C3 Picasso.

They are official. Fiat published them on their own, and it will be shown in a month.

Look, Fiat... guys... ok, we get it. Things on wheels need to be sold. Just don't call it a 500, ok? I mean, sheesh...

Front window like a C3 Picasso, floating roof like a Mini Countryman, front of a 500, I understood, it is Frankenstein, based from different parts from different people ;-)

I actually saw a protoype in Turin this week, and it is bigger than I thought. It looks almost like a small SUV.

Does it look better in person than in pictures?

Mmm, hard to say with all the camouflage on. But it looks a lot more different from a 500 than the picture would let us believe.
