Fiat Planning Four-Door Variant of 500 for Geneva

Fiat Planning Four-Door Variant of 500

Fiat is planning on adding a four-door variant of the 500 called the 500L. The car, which will likely be launched at the Geneva Motor Show in March, has a higher roof and widened chassis compared to the standard 500. It will also be about 60mm longer than the regular car. Fiat will initially offer a five-seat 500L, and it may later offer a seven-seat version. Fiat intends the enlarged 500 to compete with the Ford B-Max, Citroen C3 Picasso and Mini Countryman.

The 500L will go on sale in Europe in July, and later it will be sold in the US. It will be built in Kragujevac, Serbia, It will likely be available with Fiat's Twinair 900cc engine, a 1.4 liter engine and a 1.3 liter diesel.

Fiat has not released any pictures of the 500L yet.
