, automotive designer and founder of Fisker Automotive, has resigned from the company that bears his name citing "major disagreements" with the company's executive management.

Fisker sent his letter of resignation directly to UK auto magazine Autocar.

“The main reasons for his resignation are several major disagreements that Henrik Fisker has with the Fisker Automotive executive management on the business strategy,” said Fisker in his letter.

The leaving of the company founder is just the latest in a long line of problems for Fisker. Its most major continuing problem is that it has not completed a car since July partially because its battery supplier, A123 Systems, went out of business. was built in Finland. Three hundred of its cars were destroyed during Hurricane Sandy while they were waiting to be checked by US Customs, which was a major blow for a company that has only sold about 2,000 cars.

On top of that, it has had to deal with recalls involving cars spontaneously catching fire.

Fisker has been shopping for buyers since late 2012, and according to Fisker, it has received several proposals.

“Given the confidential nature of this matter, at this point in our process we can only confirm that the company has received detailed proposals from multiple parties in different continents which are now being evaluated by the company and its advisors,” said the Fisker statement.
