the new model was presented at the 2015 North American International Auto Show.
The next generation NSX reflects the style, design and production specifications of a mid-engined hybrid supercar, with Honda's subsidiary in the USA (Acura) announcing the design details and performance of this new model. The company will begin receiving orders for this new model during summer, with deliveries planned for the end of the year.
"Our commitment is to create a whole new NSX that was faithful to the tradition and heritage of the original NSX - a supercar that offers a new driving experience, where the whole vehicle respects its more intelligent component, the driver," said Mike Accavitti, senior vice president and general manager of the AcuraAcuraJapan, 1986 > present24 models

The next generation NSX was created from scratch and is the result of nearly three years of intensive development by a global design and engineering team led by engineers in the company's development center located in Raymond, Ohio.
Hybrid Sports Powertrain
Following the philosophy of the original NSX, the new generation of the model was designed to offer a new experience in terms of driving a sports car that maximizes the capabilities of the driver and offers intuitive and reliable answers.
In the center of the NSX performance capabilities is the new V6 with 75 degrees, mounted in a central position on the chassis with double turbochargers coupled to a DCT 9 speed transmission developed by Honda. The rear electric motor of direct action, lodged between the engine and the transmission, helps acceleration, braking and transmission in carrying out gear changes. The front wheels are driven by NSX's two independent high power electric motors that offer instant torque response and distribute it dynamically between left and right sides.
The NSX uses the front electric motors for dynamic torque vectoring in addition to improved acceleration and braking. The NSX was subjected to extensive testing in some of the most demanding circuits in the world, including the famous Nurburgring track.
Honda didn't reveal concrete data in terms of power performance of the new model.
Design
The body of the NSX has classic proportions, wide and low height, with modern finishes, aggressive front and rear lights that pay homage to the original NSX. The side air inlets and the floating C-pillars, signature are characteristics of this model, collecting the air that refreshes the engine placed in a central position and directs the airflow over the back, increasing the downforce on that half of the car. To accommodate the new V6 twin-turbo engine and the DCT transmission the dimensions of the production vehicle are slightly longer (+76.20 mm) and wide (+25.40 mm) compared to the proportions of the NSXAcura NSX ConceptJapan, 2012 > present19 photos
concept unveiled in 2012.
All the outer elements of the body design have been carefully studied taking into consideration full management of the aerodynamic flows, in order to ensure the necessary downforce on the body and ensuring the requirements in terms of stability of the vehicle and cooling systems.
Human Support Cockpit
The NSX was designed from the start with a focus on the driver. Like the original NSX a "Human Support Cockpit" was created, providing control, visibility and arrangement of elements essential to driving.
The interior of the NSX has a great forward visibility, simple and intuitive controls and top-class ergonomics.
The NSX's dashboard has a dynamic TFT display and responds to changes made by the driver on the Integrated Dynamic System, with graphics and other relevant information. The center console includes a Power button, which activates the sport hybrid powertrain. The A pillars, with ultrathin but robust design and the recessed mounting dashboard reduce to a minimum the obstructions to the view of the driver to the road.
Advanced Multi-material Bodywork
The new NSX has a multi-material manufactured body using an innovative design, with construction applications and processes that are new in the world. The NSX uses a space frame design, with an internal structure made of aluminum, ultra high strength steel and other advanced materials. With the body anchored in a floor carbon fiber, twisting forces and bending are supported only by this ultra-rigid structure whose constituent components are joined together using advanced technologies.
Advanced Sports Pack
The NSX has a Sport Pack Advanced, with the placement of the main elements of the engine in optimal locations, in order to concentrate the masses in the low position and center of the vehicle, to further improve the dynamic responses. The combination of this concept, with the lightweight body, gives a center of gravity that is the lowest in its class.
The supercar gets fully independent front and rear aluminium suspensions and high performance ContiSportContact tires mounted on 19x8,5 inches alloy wheels in the front and 20x11 inches in the rear. Braking is guaranteed thanks to the monobloc calipers with 6 pistons in front and 4 pistons at the rear, acting on carbon-ceramic discs.
The "Super-Handling (SH-AWD) All-Wheel Drive System has been greatly improved and now allows super-fast answers to all driver's commands along with stability, control and start-up provided by a all-wheel drive system.
NSX's Dynamic Integrated System is controlled by a command button and offers the following modes: Quiet Sport, Sport+ and Track. This system adjusts the responses of the combustion engine, electric motor, transmission and chassis, as well as the engine combustion sound volume, based on the needs of the driver and the driving environment. The Quiet mode allows to drive the car only in electric mode and at low speed, for short periods of time.
New Production Facilities
The NSX will be built exclusively at the Performance Manufacturing Center (PMC) production facility, located in Marysville, Ohio, a new and dedicated production center where this model will be manufactured and assembled by about 100 workers.
