called the Polar Edition at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It is available with either a 2.8-liter turbo diesel or a 3.6-liter V6 petrol engine as a two-door or four-door model.

The Polar Edition comes in an exclusive new color – Hydro Blue. It gets a new front grill with black accents, a hard spare tire cover, hood with power dome, body color hardtop and 18in gloss black wheels. It has Polar badges on the fenders with the coordinates 78° S and 106° E, the location of Vostok, Antarctica, where the coldest temperature was ever recorded.

The interior has black leather seats with Pearl White trim and Polar logos. It has standard heated front seats, white instrument bezels. The interior gets automatic climate control, a multifunction steering wheel, cruise control and infotainment display.

Mechanically, the Polar Edition is based on the SaharaJeep Wrangler 2.8 CRD SaharaUnited States of America, 2010 > present1 photo
model. It comes standard with the Trac-Lok electronic limited-slip differential, a Dana 30 front axle, Dana 44 rear axle, two-speed transfer case.

The 2.8-liter turbo diesel makes 197hp and 339lb-ft of torque with a five-speed automatic transmission or six-speed manual, but the six-speed reduces it to 302lb-ft torque.

The 3.6-liter V6 makes 280hp and 256lb-ft of torque with a five-speed automatic.

The Polar Edition can be ordered with the Dual Top and UConnect 6.5in touchscreen infotainment system.

Sales of the Polar Edition will begin in the first quarter of 2014.
