diesels for the adventure in Morocco.
For the actual Dakar Rally, the team will have four two-man teams driving Qt Wildcats and a team of 23 mechanics and support people. All of them were in some way wounded during war. One member is a triple amputee with paralyzed vocal cords. Race2Recovery will be the first time that an amputee driver and co-driver team will take on Dakar, and they will also be raising money for Help for Heroes and the Tedworth House Personnel Recovery Centre.
Land Rover is supplying the team with logistical support.
During the training in Morocco, the team had to navigate deep sands, razor dunes and boulder fields.
"Driving more than 500 km per day in temperatures up to 37 degrees and over 2,000 meter high peaks en-route to the desert, with rough camping alongside our vehicles for three nights, enabled our team members to experience this unforgiving and demanding environment and develop essential skills for ensuring success on next year's Dakar rally," said Captain Tony Harris.
The team also competed in the Pharaons Rally Raid in Egypt from October 1-6.
This year's Dakar Rally will cover 5,000 miles over 15 days in Peru, Argentina and Chile.
