The last time Lotus discussed its annual sales in September, it had sold 818 cars for the year. However, 2013 might be a better year for the ailing sports car company. According to Autocar, the Esprit will use a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with a power regeneration system and a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. There is no word on the engine's exact specifications, but it is reported to have around 650hp.
There is also no word about where Lotus is sourcing the engine. Currently, all of their engines are from ToyotaToyotaJapan, 1937 > present155 models
