Nasser Al-Attiya and Timo Gottschalk were the fastest to arrive in Buenos Aires after the 9600 km long Dakar Rally. Driving the last meters towards the finish line, Nasser Al-Attiya received a phone call from his Emir, Hamid bin Chalifa Al Thani, congratulating the successful drivers.
While the Quatari and German celebrated their first victory at the Dakar Rally, it was the third consecutive win for the Volkswegn Race Touareg in three years, with Giniel de Villiers and Dirk von Zitzewitz winning 2009 and Carlos Sainz and Lucas Cruz in 2010.
