Nissan Leaf is the 2nd Best Selling Car in Norway for April

when the car took the number two spot on the Norwegian car sales charts for April. It is also the fifth best selling car in Norway this year. 

Nissan sold 455 Leafs in Norway in April and was only bested by the Volkswagen GolfVolkswagen Volkswagen Golf Gen.7 [VII]Germany, 2012 > present363 versions

with 903 sales. The leaf is also the fifth best selling car for the year so far and was 13th overall in 2012. The Leaf is the best selling Nissan in Norway. 

"In April we have outsold entire ranges of big name models from other manufacturers with our outgoing model. While the competition are offering multiple body styles, engine types and trim levels, the current Nissan LEAF is a single shape, powertrain and specification car," said Paul Wilcox, Nissan head of sales and marketing. 

Norway gives buyers large incentives to buy electric vehicles including no VAT, electric car only parking lots, use of bus lanes and government-sponsored charging points. Oslo will build 200 charging stations per year for the next four years. 

We are clearly demonstrating to other countries in Europe and across the globe that if you build infrastructure and put some smart incentives in place people buy zero emission cars and use them everyday," said Snorre Sletvold, president of the Norwegian Electric Vehicle Association. 

Nissan has recently upgraded the Leaf with a longer range, faster charging and more cargo capacity, and these cars will go on sale in June.
