The three cars, which are known by the nickname KAD models, represented the peak of Opel's sedan models at the time. All three were introduced between 1963 and 1964. All three rode on an identical platform but engines went from a 2.6-liter inline six all the way up to a 5.4-liter V8. The Diplomat, the flagship among them, was made to take on cars from Mercedes-BenzMercedes-BenzGermany, 1924 > present197 models

Neumann brought a 1969 Kapitän with a 2.8-liter inline six, a 1965 Admiral with a 4.6-liter V8 and a 1976 Diplomat long wheelbase with a 5.4-liter V8.
The journey went from the Opel headquarters in Rüsselsheim to Schloss Westerhaus, where Opel family descendants still live. On the next day, the cars followed the banks of the Rhine River and eventually followed the Main River back north to Rüsselsheim
