Peugeot has unveiled an updated version of the 508 range. The rival of the Ford Mondeo from French brand hits the market in September and received changes in mechanical and aesthetic level. The official presentation will take place in August at the Moscow and Chengdu Auto Shows.
The main noticeable change is the new front and rear that have been introduced in the three different body styles of the 508 - sedan, wagon and RXH. The changes include the presence, for the first time, of the Lion logo placed on the center of the grille. Furthermore both the front and rear lights now come standard with LED technology. The bonnet was also redesigned, as well as the front and rear bumpers.
Inside Peugeot was inspired by the 308 to renew 508. The central console has been simplified with the introduction of a larger number of features on the seven inches touch screen in order to reduce the amount of buttons. The vehicle also received new dials and dashboard, plus a new screen HUD.
In terms of security and safety technology, Peugeot offers optional blind spot sensors on the side mirrors. Furthermore, the French mark indicates that the model gets better finish.
The Peugeot 508 facelift also includes the introduction of new engines to the range. One of the new features is the 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 165hp which replaces the previous 156hp, achieving even better fuel consumption and lower CO2 emissions.
The new range of 508 also includes two versions of the 2.0-liter diesel engine Peugeot Blue HDI of 150hp and 180hp. These two versions emit 105 and 111g/km, respectively.
The RXH and sedan variants are also available with a diesel hybrid option. This engine was modified and now features 85g/km emissions below the previous 107g/km.
