is updating the Panamera DieselPanamera DieselPorsche Panamera DieselGermany, 2014 > present at the Frankfurt Motor Show with a 296hp (300ps), 3.0-liter V6, which is a 49hp (50ps) increase over the previous iteration. Torque is also up to 479lb-ft (650Nm), up 74lb-ft (100Nm).  The upgraded engine reduces the acceleration to 100km/h to 6.0 seconds, a reduction of 0.8 seconds. The top speed is improved to 259km/h, a 15km/h upgrade.

The engine block is the same as before, but the crankshaft, pistons and turbo have all been upgraded to be more efficient and make more power. The turbo now runs at 3 bar of pressure, up from 2.5 bar in the previous version of the engine.

Other upgrades for the Panamera Diesel include a torque vectoring rear differential, and it gets smaller upgrades to the transmission and chassis. The gearing for the first four gears is shorter, and the anti-roll bars are more rigid for better handling.

Fuel consumption is improved because of the new engine and gearing to 6.4l/100km and 169g/km of CO2.

Porsche says that it has sold 8,500 Panamera Diesel models since it was introduced, a 15% share of its sales.

The upgraded Panamera Diesel will go on sale in January and cost €85,300, including 19% German VAT.
