by continuing to boldly shape the future of the marque with contemporary, graceful and sensuous styling.

Already expected, the new model of the British luxury brand should be a convertible based on the same platform as the Wraith. Although the model name hasn't been revealed yet, the vehicle is already in the automotive press called Wraith Drophead Coupé, since it will share the same two-door configuration of the latest model of the brand. However, the announcement of the Rolls-Royce hints at the possibility of the model receiving a proper name. The revitalization of the Corniche name may well be one of the possibilities.

Currently the model is under development, with tests to be performed through prototyping.

“I am truly delighted to confirm today the development of our new model which will open an exciting new chapter in the great story of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. We are currently developing an exciting and thoroughly contemporary interpretation of a pinnacle drophead tourer which will introduce even more discerning men and women to Rolls-Royce ownership,” said the Executive Chief of Rolls-Royce, Torsten Müller-Ötvös.

According to the Chairman of the company, Peter Schwarzenbauer, the new model will help Rolls-Royce in its long-term sustainable growth, by taking advantage of the current success of its model range.

Slated for release in mid 2016 it is possible that the new model will be ready to be unveiled at next year's Geneva Motor Show.
