Seat Gives 2 Electric Altea XL EVs to Madrid City Hall

to the Madrid City Hall for the next five months. Seat will use the time to evaluate the use of the Altea XL EV and improve it for regular use. It is still deciding whether to put the Altea XL EV into mass production.

The Altea XL EV uses a 115ps and 250Nm electric motor with a top speed of 135km/h. It has a range of 135km from a 100kWh batter pack under the rear seats. There is also a photovoltaic panel on the roof powers the air conditionding and other functions.

The car also allows owners to turn on the air conditioning before they enter the car via a smartphone app. The app shows information like battery charge. 

Seat is planning to loan more Altea XL EVs to other government bodies for evaluation. It has already loaned one to the Barcelona City Hall for testing. In the future universities will also get them for testing.

plug-in hybrid. It also has a 115ps 1.4 TSI engine with a 115ps electric motor. Total output is 161ps. It has an electric range of 52km and up to 120km/h. It uses 1.7l/100km and emits 39g/km of CO2.
