Fully functional means that the car has everything shy of working headlights. The car is powered by an electric motor and battery located in the rear, but it has simulated movement of the pistons. The suspension is a functional dual-wishbone system in the front and functional De Dion rear suspension. It has working disc brakes and a working sequential five-speed plus reverse transmission that includes a gear display in the cockpit. The steering also works. All of these functions are controlled from a homemade radio controller.
He says that the car is built to 1:7 scale with dimensions of 45cm long, 23cm wide and 16cm tall. It has roughly 2,500 parts and weighs 2.2kg.
This is not Fernando's first project. According to his website, he will be displaying four cars that he has built at the Lego Fan Weekend in Denmark. They will include a Land Rover Defender 110Land Rover Defender Gen.1United Kingdom, 1983 > present122 versions
