UK used Twitter to show how its cars are made in a project its calls “Factory to Forecourt”. On June 19, Toyota tweeted each step in the production process from its @toyotafactory Twitter account.

It broadcasted 325 tweets over 14 hours to provide a detailed explanation of how an Auris HybridToyota Auris Hybrid 1.8 H...Japan, 2012 > present8 photos
was built, and the tweets included images, videos and personal messages from factory employees. It started from raw steel and finished when the car was ready for delivery.

“This project does more than simply show what we do inside the walls of our factory, it presents it in the context of the commitment to quality that is the guiding principle of the way Toyota works worldwide and the first priority of everyone who works for the company,” said Scott Brownlee, Toyota GB’s head of social media.
