Volkswagen Golf BlueMotion TDI Drives 1602km on a Single Tank

has done a 1602km (995 miles) test of a Golf TDI BlueMotionVolkswagen Golf Confortli...Germany, 2013 > present from Nantes, France, to Copenhagen, Denmark on a single tank of fuel, and the car consumed 2.92l/100km, better than its 3.2l/100km official rating. Vehicle inspection company DEKRA supervised and validated the test.  

“This is a really impressive result. The trip shows that the interaction between fuel-saving BlueMotion efficiency technology and a well thought-out proactive driving approach allows economy figures that are hard to match," said Simon Thomas, VW Group head of marketing.

The drive took 20 hours and 45 minutes with the cars 50-liter fuel tank. At the end of the trip, it still had 3.08 liters of diesel in the tank.

The Golf TDI BlueMotion produces 108hp (110ps) with a stop/start system and regenerative braking. It also has improved aerodynamics, lower weight, low rolling resistance tires and a higher ratio six-speed manual transmission.
