Museum will have a very warm T3 Transporter in its collection until March. The entire car has been covered with a custom sweater made by employees of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.

The knitted sweater covers the entire truck including the body, mirrors and even the windshield wipers.

The idea came from a group of employees from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles who took a vacation to Thailand together and saw a T2 Transporter that had that knitted pieces added to the car.

When they returned home, they decided to attempt to create a sweater that covered an entire T3 Transporter. It was harder than expected and the employees got help from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles employees from all over the world.

By the time it was finished, it took 2,500 hours to create the sweater and includes 155 miles (250km) of yarn that weighs 110lbs (50kg).
