Plymouth was founded in 1928 and discontinued in 2001. It was Chrysle’s low-priced segment, and marketed through its dealerships. During WWII, the more affordable cars that Plymouth offered were the rock for the economical support of the Chrysler Corporation. In the 1980s, Plymouth stopped producing its own models. From that point on, all Plymouths were badge engineered models from brands that the Chrysler Corporation owned. When Daimler took over Chrysler, Plymouth was discontinued in 2001.
