The new Boxster S Black Edition is a luxurious top model that will have a production limited to 987 cars. The 3.4-litre six-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection powering the Boxster S Black Edition will provide 320 hp, ten more than the Boxster S, at 7,200 rpm. Compared with the Boxster S torque has been increased by ten Nm to 370, at 4,750 rpm.
With more power the Boxster S Black Edition offers a superior driving performance. Thanks to the standard six-speed manual transmission it is able to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds, a tenth of a second faster than the Boxster S, and to reach a top speed of 274 km/h. Although its power has been increased, when compared to the Boxster S, the Black Edition delivers the same fuel consumption in the NEDC test cycle, with 9.8 litres per 100 kilometres.
