Porsche is launching for the first time a GT version based on the Cayman. It is the Cayman GT4 that will make its world premiere in early March at the Geneva Motor Show. The engine, chassis, brakes and aerodynamic elements of the Cayman GT4 were configured to provide driving pleasure, while maintaining the versatility and vehicle for the daily usage.
The Cayman GT4 gets a six-cylinder 3.8 boxer engine derived from the 911 Carrera S with 385hp and 460Nm of torque. Combined with a manual six-speed gearbox the performance version accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 295km/h. The average consumption is indicated at 10.3l/100 km.
Porsche took the Cayman GT4 to the Nürburgring circuit and became the new reference in the segment with a lap time of 7 minutes and 40 seconds. Much of this ability comes from the sharing of components with the 911 GT3 chassis.
The exterior design of the Cayman GT4 is quite distinct from other Cayman versions. The aerodynamic package of the new radical version of the two-door coupe includes three new front air intakes and a large fixed rear wing.
Porsche customers still have at their disposal a list of options that allow to give the Cayman GT4 even better sporting characteristics, including the PCCB ceramic brake system, full carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) bucket seats, the Sport Chrono Package with Track Precision application and the Club Sport Package.
The interior of the Cayman GT4 includes sports seats with leather and Alcantara lining with larger lateral support, a sports steering wheel with a precise handling feedback thanks to its compact dimensions.
The Cayman GT4 has its' world premiere scheduled for early March at the Geneva Motor Show and is now available to order. The arrival of the first units to dealers should happen at the end of March.
