For the 2011 model year Dodge boosted the power of its American muscle coupe, the Challenger SRT8 392, thanks to the introduction of the legendary 392-cubic-inch HEMI® V-8 powertrain for the street. The new SRT8 392 offers an increased power of 470 HP and 470 lb.-ft (637 Nm) torque. This represents more 90 lb.-ft. of torque at 2,900 rpm when compared to the previous 6.1-liter V-8 engine.

The 2011 car is fitted with new, highly damped shocks, suited for daily usage or for more challenging situations. The suspension geometry was recalibrated by SRT engineers in order to improve Challenger’s balance, corning ability and steering responsiveness. The performance SRT-tuned, fully hydraulic steering system has also been enhanced with a new, heavy-duty pump and revised gearing to give drivers more direct feel and on-center response.

For the launch of the 2011 model-year production, Dodge built 1,492 Inaugural Edition models of the Challenger SRT8 392, all with exclusive content. Those first 1,492 owners receive a unique customization including a livery featuring two colours and a new full-body stripe combination. All Inaugural Edition models are as standard with 20-inch SRT-exclusive wheels that feature a polished face and satin black painted pockets.

The Challenger SRT8 392 also features “392 HEMI” badges on both fenders to indicate the V-8 engine. The performance exhaust note is delivered by the Mopar quad exhaust tips that also add the muscle car styling cue.
The 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 is built at the Brampton Assembly Plant in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, and arrived to U.S. dealerships in the fourth quarter of 2010.
