Drayson Racing Technologies has set a new World Electric Land Speed Record for a car weighing under 1,000kg by setting an average of 204.185mph over two runs within an hour of one another. The run was done at dusk on June 25 at Elvington Airfield near York, England.
The car was a Drayson B12 69/EV that uses a heavily modified chassis and Drayson’s own electric powertrain. Being a modified LMP1 car, the car used the same Michelin tires that AudiAudiGermany, 1909 > present83 models

used to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans last weekend but with special low wind resistance carbon fiber wheels.
For this world record run, the car used a special low downforce setting that maximized outright speed.
The previous record stood for 40 years at 174.985mph.
Drayson will return to the airfield on June 26 to attempt to set new electric car acceleration records.
