in Japan cumulatively and had 4,700 units sold worldwide in September, its best ever. Worldwide, Nissan has sold over 83,000 Leafs since the car’s introduction in 2010. It makes the Leaf the single-best EV model ever.

In Japan, the future for the model includes 700 quick chargers in the first half of 2014. There is a network of 1,900 EV chargers across Japan already. Eight hundred of them are at Nissan dealers.
