has released an update on the condition of its test driver Maria de Villota. After two surgeries since her accident, de Villota is finally out of sedation, awake and speaking.

Over the weekend, de Villota's doctors began removing her from sedation and by Sunday she was able to speak to her family. She was removed from the Neurological Critical Care Unit on Monday and is no longer any sedation.

De Villota is still in the hospital, but it appears that her condition is improving, and she is out of danger.
