has taken funding from three Russian companies and in return 17-year-old Russian driver Sergey Sirotkin will join Sauber as a development driver for the rest of this season and will be a race driver for the team next season.

Sauber has taken funding from Investment Cooperation International Fund, the State Fund of Development of North-West Russian Federation and the National Institute of Aviation Technologies, which will also provide technical support.

"The objective of the partnership is to open up new perspectives and revenue streams by commercializing jointly developed technologies," said Sauber in its statement announcing the investment.

There will be no change to the Sauber team or management for the moment.
