. To combat the all-new Mercedes, Audi plans to market the refreshed A8 as the technological leader in its class. Among upgrades will be the A8's active matrix LEDs and LED turn signals. 

The sketches of the car indicate that Audi will make the new car more angular than the current version. The front bumper has been redesigned with a lower air dam that surrounds the grill. The rear also has sharper edges with a new look for the taillights, and they are split in half by a chrome bar that goes across the trunk line. It also has rectangular exhaust pipes that are integrated into the rear.
