The Frankfurt Motor Show has marked the debut of another British luxury brand, Eterniti and with it the first super-SUV ever to be built: the Hemera. According to Eterniti the Hemera, will be an expression of new levels of luxury, space and performance in an SUV, which the brand expects to create a niche for them.
The Hemera features a limousine-like rear cabin that gives passengers the option of being chauffeured as well as driving themselves. It has relatively compact dimensions for a SUV, 4x4 ruggedness and dynamic performance.
In Frankfurt Eterniti is showing a fully engineered prototype based in the latest generation of VW Group’s large SUV platform. The brand is expecting to launch the Hemera next year ahead of luxury SUVs from Bentley, Maserati and, if it is confirmed for production, Aston Martin’s Lagonda brand.
The Hemera is powered by a twin-turbo 4.8-litre V8 petrol engine which had its performance increased from 500bhp to over 620bhp. Thanks to it the Super-SUV is able to reach a top speed of 290km/h, accelerating from 0 to 100km/h in under 4.5 seconds. The engine is coupled with an 8-speed semi-automatic gearbox with active all-wheel drive, electronically variable multi-plate clutch, automatic brake differential and anti-slip regulation.
For 2012 Eterniti already has plans for the unveiling of an Hemera derivative, while the brand’s plans also includes another SUV in order to meet the growing demand for luxury SUVs are currently being developed. A high-performance car is also being planned.
