decided to reveal the first official photos of its first SUV. The new model of the Italian luxury brand will be officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.

Maserati also took the opportunity to reveal some technical information about the new SUV. The brand indicates that the chassis has been designed to combine the same road performance of any other Maserati model with an excellent  all-terrain performance.

In addition to the electronic suspension with controlled damping and adjustable air springs, all versions of the Levante will receive the Q4 all-wheel drive system from Maserati and an automatic eight-speed transmission, calibrated specifically for the SUV.

With the first images of the Levant also came the first confirmation regarding the engines. Maserati has confirmed that at launch the model will dispose of a range of at least two petrol versions and one diesel.

The available information indicates that the Levante 350 and Levante 430 will be equipped with the same 3.0 liter V6 petrol which already equips versions of the GhibliGhibli (modern)Maserati Ghibli (modern)Italy, 2013 > present16 versions

. The diesel engine will also be a 3.0-liter V6. The Quattroporte's V8 engine will also be carried over to the Levante as a top range version of the model, while a plug-in hybrid version is also planned.

The Maserati Levante brings with it a very sculpted bonnet and a new interpretation of the front grille of the brand. The front features a new tapered design of the headlights, separated into two elements, and also large air intakes. The traditional three air inlets remain in the front wing, just like the brand logo placed on the trapezoidal C-pillar, like the Ghibli and other models of the brand. The SUV also includes frameless door glass, a spoiler placed on top of the boot and four exhaust tips. The Levante also includes some stylistic elements of the Kubang, the concept unveiled in 2011 which first showed the desire of Maserati to come to the SUV segment.

Maserati is betting strong in the Levante and expects that by 2018 it will become its best-selling model, reaching a total of 70,000 units.
