The new model is part of the newly created Super Series range, which already includes the 650S and the 625CMcLaren 625CUnited Kingdom, 2014 > present. Its "LT" designation is a tribute to the iconic F1 GTR "Long Tail"McLaren F1 GTR LongtailUnited Kingdom, 1997 > present2 photos
that competed in 1997 in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. During the development of the 675LT, McLaren focused on optimizing the aerodynamic performance, increased downforce, driver engagement, power and weight reduction.
Under the bonnet, the 675LT will be powered by a 3.8-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, and as shown in the model name it will have 675hp. McLaren did not reveal performance data of the vehicle but it is expected an improvement in terms 0 to 100km/h acceleration and top speed, compared to the 650S.
Images that have been revealed online have shown that 675LT will have a similar shape to the 650S, but nevertheless should feature subtle differences in design on the front bumper. A new side air inlet seems to have been added as well as a more elongated rear.
Despite being a track-focused car the 675LT will also be road legal, so a unique racing version could be launched in the future, similar to what happened with the 650S Sprint.
Only 250 units of 675LT should be produced.
