Peugeot renews range of the 208

, a model that has helped the French brand to regain its market position, is preparing to undergo an update. The facelift that will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show will include more efficient engines and a new trim level.

In terms of design, the Peugeot 208 design gets a new front bumper with more creased lines, a wider grille and more chrome elements in front. The model also receives a new LED signature, besides LED lights at the rear.

Inside the vehicle receives leather trim on the steering wheel from the Active versions upwards, while the dashboard has a new trim on top versions. The 7-inch touch screen has been updated with the latest software and is also available from Active versions upwards. This system allows synchronization with smartphones.

One of the novelties of the new 208 is the new GT Line trim that brings some GTi elements to the rest of the range. It includes the "Equalizer" grille, gloss black grille and fog lig surrounds, 17 inches alloy wheels, chromed window surrounds and exhaust tip, GT Line badges on the grill, the wings and the bootlid and the red Peugeot logo at the front and rear. Inside the GT Line trim level gets sports seats with red stitching, black gloss door handles, a leather sports steering wheel, door sills and pedals in aluminium.

The range of engines has also been updated and according to Peugeot all diesel engines emit less than 95g CO2/km. There will be three 1.6-liter diesel options with outputs of 75, 100 and 120hp. The 75 and 100hp versions are combined with a manual five-speed gearbox and emit just 79g/km of CO2 and feature a fuel consumption of 3.0l/100km. The 120hp version is packed with a manual six-speed gearbox and emits 94g/km.

Peugeot will also debut a new gasoline engine 1.2 PureTech of 110hp, which already appears in the 308308 Gen.2Peugeot 308 Gen.2France, 2013 > present103 versions

range. It is equipped with start/stop technology and a manual six-speed gearbox and emits 103g/km. The 68hp 1.0l engine and the 82hp 1.2l remain unchanged.
