Yaris Hybrid Emissions Pegged at 79g/km of CO2

Yaris Hybrid Emissions Revealed

The Yaris Hybrid, or Prius C as it is called in the US, will be revealed in Europe at the Geneva Motor Show. Toyota had already revealed that the little car would get a 100hp powertrain of a 1.5 liter, Atkinson cycle engine with an electric motor that both power the front wheels. Previously, Toyota would only say that the Yaris Hybrid would have low emissions, but it would not admit how low.

The Yaris Hybrid has been rated in Europe at 79g/km that will make it the lowest emissions from a gasoline vehicle in Europe. It will come standard with an automatic transmission and air conditioning in Europe.

Toyota did an in-depth study of the car's hybrid system, and it found that the Yaris Hybrid runs on average purely electrically 66% of time and 58% of the distance it travels.

Orders for the Yaris Hybrid begin in March, and it will go on sale in Europe in May.
