Mopar Pumps Up Dodge Charger Redline and Chrysler 200 Super S

Chrysler's Mopar is not just responsible for making the automakers parts, it also creates unique performance parts for nearly every car in the Chrysler brand. It has finally got its hands on the Chrysler 200 to fettle it into the Chrysler 200 Super S. And while it has worked on the Dodge Charger before, Mopar has a new version available called the Dodge Charger Redline.

The Charger Redline starts as a Charger R/T and has a variety of stages to add on. Each stage adds on top of the next. Stage 1 adds just carbon fiber chin spoiler, Redline Tri-coat paint, a red grill, 20in, black-painted wheels and carbon fiber door scoops. It is just an appearance package. Stage 2 goes a little farther. These cars get a Mopar cat-back exhaust, a front tower strut-brace and Mopar brake pads. That is a little better. Stage 3 is where the power really comes on. It removes the 5.7 liter Hemi from the regular Charger R/T and replaces it with a 6.9 liter Hemi. This bumps power from 370hp to 590hp.

The 200 Super S is based on the Chrysler 200 and also comes in  variety of stages. Stage 1 adds a chin spoiler, fog light trim, chrome grill surround, upper and lower mesh grills, new side sills, chrome side molding, gray or black 18in wheels, trunk lid spoiler and matte black rear diffuser. Stage 2 cars get a coil-over suspension, cold-air intake and cat-back exhaust. Chrysler says that buyers will be able to order the packages as soon as it is revealed.

Both cars will be on display at the North American International Auto Show. Chrysler did not give prices for either package, but they will revealed at the auto show.

Wow, 590HP on the Charger Redline Stage 3. That must be hairy to drive.

I really like the Charger idea, but the 200? Really? Why make that car any better when its just gonna get replaced with a Fiat?

The 200 to be replaced by a FIAT? Shouldn't it be the same as the Dodge Dart rather, which will be based on the Alfa Giulietta, but won't have the same body?

It is hard to say what will happen to the 200. It is still based on the 2007-era Chrysler Sebring that used a platform that was shared with Mitsubishi. It still is the Mitsubishi Lancer chassis, as we...

Thanks Cabruce. So like with the Dodge Dart, the platform maybe a Fiat/Alfa one, but the car will be a different design. There I agree, I would be surprized to see Chrysler just rebrand a Fiat.
