at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on January 13, 2014. One year ago at the show, it debuted the standard version of the seventh generation Corvette.

Chevy is promising that the car will be the ”most track-capable Corvette ever” and offer performance on par with supercars. It will get unique powertrain, chassis and aerodynamic upgrades over the standard Corvette. But it is not going into any precise details yet. Production will not begin until later in 2014.

“Chevrolet is America’s favorite performance car brand, and for 2014 we are going to offer enthusiasts more choices than ever before. No other manufacturer will be able to match the breath of performance cars from Chevrolet," said Alan Batey, senior vice president of Chevrolet.
