will also be unveiling a new generation of its IntelliLink infotainment system for the car that includes an 8in touchscreen controlled by a touchpad, voice control and steering wheel-mounted buttons. Opel says that the system is as robust as before but features simplified operation.

The system has a touchpad between the seats that users trace their finger over to control. It recognizes both handwriting and movement and vibrates when users are floating over an option on the screen. It also supports two-finger and three-finger gestures for more advanced controls. When searching for addresses or songs, users can write out the letters, and the screen displays the users' most likely selections.

The steering wheel has buttons to activate the voice command system and buttons for the most common infotainment functions.

The system can also be controlled by simply pressing on the screen itself.

The instrument panel features a separate 8in display and can be customized to the driver's liking for the positions of the speedometer, tachometer and other gauges. It also displays smartphone info and the radio station.

The stereo can be optionally updated to the Bose Sound System that equips the Insignia with nine speakers, two subwoofers and four tweeters for €580.
