Subaru XV Crosstrek Wins IIHS Safety Award

as a 2012 Top Safety Pick. All of Subaru's vehicles have received the IIHS Safety Pick awards for the third consecutive year. 

The XV Crosstrek also received "good," Its highest, ratings for the moderate overlap frontal, side, rollover and rear impact crash tests. 

"The XV Crosstrek brings Subaru all-wheel drive and crossover technology into the small CUV segment. Our buyers know that Subaru means safety and adding XV Crosstrek to our 100% list of IIHS Top Safety Picks is proof of that," said Thomas J. Doll, Chief operating officer of Subaru of America.

In order to receive the Top Safety Pick Award a vehicle must receive "good" ratings in front, side, rear and rollover crash tests. It ranks crash tests as good, acceptable, marginal and poor. 

The XV Crosstrek is on sale in the US now but not available at all dealers. The car is heavily based on the ImprezaImpreza Gen.3Subaru Impreza Gen.3Japan, 2007 > 2011116 versions
