In March 1967, the third series of the Triumph Spitfire was revealed and it offered higher safety and performance levels. These cars were also given an actual facelift, contrary to what happens on the other Spitfire generations. Although a replacement for this car was ready in 1970, the Mk3 Spitfire was still in production through 1971. A total of 65.320 cars from this generation were built.
