The Volkswagen CrossGolf debuted at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. The model based on the Golf Plus is an all-arounder that is supposed to bridge the gap between the MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) and SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle). Together with the Golf, Golf Plus, Golf Variant, Golf GTI and the Golf R it becomes the sixth model in the Golf’s range.
The five-door vehicle are powered by three 1.4 litre direct-injection turbocharged petrol (TSI) engines, with power outputs of 105 PS, 122 PS and 160 PS. The diesel range includes a 1.6 litre and a 2.0 litre engines with outputs of 105 and 140 PS respectively. As for the fuel consumption, for example, the 1.4 TSI, with its output of 160 PS and 250 Nm of torque has a combined fuel consumption of 6.8 litres of fuel per 100 km, which represents CO2 emissions of 159 g/km. In the diesel range the 140-PS TDI, shifted by a 6-speed gearbox, has a consumption of 5.3 litres of fuel and 138 g/km of CO2 emissions.
