After the experience gained with the construction of the Lightweight E-type projectJaguar E-Type LightweightUnited Kingdom, 2014 > present, Jaguar Classic decided to build another ultra-exclusive continuation model, the XKSS. Nine units of the XKSSJaguar XKSSUnited Kingdom, 2017 > present were built following the exact specification from 1957. These cars replaced those lost due to the Browns Lane factory fire.

"The XKSS occupies a unique place in Jaguar's history and is a car coveted by collectors the world over for its exclusivity and unmistakable design,” explained Tim Hannig, Director of Jaguar Land Rover Classic.
