about this car

Bugatti is launching a series of limited edition Veyrons called "Legend of Bugatti".

The first of them is dedicated to Jean-Pierre Wimille, the longest-serving driver of Bugatti’s grand prix racing team. Just three special Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse models dedicated to Wimille were made, and the first of them was presented at the Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance.

The Veyron Wimille is inspired by the 1937 Type 57G Tank that Wimille won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in. The car is covered in blue-tinted carbon fiber, Bugatti Blue paint and a new light blue that Bugatti calls Wimille Bleu.  The same color scheme is carried inside the cabin.

Wimille won twice for Bugatti in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1937 and 1939 and brought the company its last race victory in 1947 at the Bois de Boulogne. He was also Bugatti’s test driver.
