Porsche opened the doors to the 2013 911 GT3 at the Geneva Motor Show.
The latest generation gets to 100km/h in 3.5 seconds, which is about half a second faster than the previous GT3, and a top speed of 315km/h, 3km/h better than the previous gen. Power comes from a new tune of Porsche’s 3.8-liter boxer-six engine. It is 41hp more powerful than the standard version of the previous-gen GT3 and 24hp more powerful than the previous GT3 RS. Porsche says that the power boost is thanks to titanium connecting rods and forged pistons that heightens the redline to 9,000rpm, up 1,000rpm from even the previous-gen GT3 RS.
The only transmission available in the new GT3 will the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
