about this car
The Giulietta Spider was born by request of Max Hoffman that, convinced of the success that the Alfa Romeo could have on the United States of America, pressed the Italian brand to produce an open version of the Giulietta. Envisioned by Pinin Farina, the style of the new Giulietta wasn’t very innovative design-wise, but it was very appealing to the eyes, enough to make it an iconic model of Alfa Romeo.
The car debuted at Paris motor show in 1955. Since Hoffman had requested 600 vehicles from the start to export to America, the Giulietta Spider was first available in the USA than in Italy. In fact, Italians had to wait for the complete delivery to Hoffman to be made to have the car for sale in their country.
