Agera: the latest creation from Koenigsegg

In 2010 Koenigsegg is celebrating 15 years of existence with the launch of its latest supercar: the Agera. The new model by Koenigsegg, according to the brand, wants to “take the Koenigsegg experience to the next level, both on the road and the track”. The Agera will be on dispay at the 80th Geneva Motor Show.

Meaning “to act” in Swedish, the name Agera was chosen to symbolize the Koenigsegg philosophy of always improving its cars and pushing its designs to the limit. Although the Koenigsegg CC concept has already been created 15 years ago, the Agera still keeps some of the original features of the model, such as shape and size, adding at the same time some modernity, with all new content.

The Koenigsegg Agera will be powered by a 4.7-litre V8 petrol engine with a maximum output of 910 hp, at 6850 rpm. The engine reaches its maximum torque of 1100 Nm at 5100 rpm. The Agera has an estimated top speed of 390 km/h and acceeration from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.1 seconds.

Also featuring in the Agera is the latest braking technology, which incorporates an adjustable ABS system, with 392x36 and 380x34 ventilated and drilled ceramic discs, ensuring better braking performance and zero fade regardless of track or road condition.

Another of Agera’s main features is the Ghost light technology, a new type of interior illumination that shines through the billet aluminium buttons and surfaces by way of invisible nanotubes. This technology gives great visibility to the controls in the new carbon fibre centre console.
