, it is also providing some output. While that project is not even finished yet, the teams are already discussing future projects. 

Mazda CEO Takashi Yamanouchi says that Mazda and Fiat have already drawn up an "opportunity list" of future projects. While none of these projects are confirmed yet, these are cars that both sides believe that they could provide some input on. 

According to Yamanouchi, Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne has expressed interest in working on future vehicles. The two sides will sign-off on the final portions of the new platform by the end of the year, and there have been no obstacles so far for the future MX-5MX-5Mazda MX-5Japan, 1989 > present4 series

"The engineers at both companies are meeting with each other, and we can have a mutual better understanding of each company, which can then open up new possibilities," said Yamanouchi.

There are still some questions about the future of the platform. Marchionne wants to build the cars in Europe, especially Italy, while Mazda wants to build them in Japan.
