name 50 years ago on June 27, 1962, when the car was shown to the international press. On June 24, at its Balocco test track Alfa Romeo is inviting enthusiasts and car clubs to celebrate one of its most important models. The original Giulia was made from 1962 to 1977 and spawned many variants including coupes and GTAlfa Romeo Giulia 1750 GTAmItaly, 1970 > present1 photo
versions. It was among Alfa Romeo's most important post-war models.

The event this weekend at Balocco celebrates the Giulia that was originally tested there. From 1962 to 1977, Alfa Romeo sold over one million Giulias worldwide. A logo for the event was created that uses the style of an early Giulia advertisement. The 190 hectare Balocco test track was also finished in 1962 60km away from Milan. It has 80km of testing routes.

At the end of the event a new Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde will leave Balocco to drive to the Goodwood Festival of Speed that will be on the next weekend. During the trip, the car will visit Alfa Romeo clubs in Switzerland, Germany, France, Holland, Belgium and the UK. You can follow the car's trip here. 

On June 23, a day before the event at Balocco, both of Alfa Romeo's official clubs, Registro Italiano Alfa Romeo and Scuderia del Portello will have an event in Cremona where Alfa Romeo won its first world title in 1924.
