The Mercedes-AMG boss Tobias Moers confirmed a GT3 class racing car is being developed for the 2016 season based on the GT and from that vehicle a road version may be created. The name has not yet been chosen, but it won't receive the designation Black Series or GT3.

With the future car Mercedes-AMG plans to go a step further in all parameters. The goals is to make the car reach 100km/h in about 2.8 seconds with more power, less weight, better aerodynamics and a specific suspension.

In relation to weight reduction, Moers points to a cut of 80 to 100kg, regarding the SGT SAMG GT SGermany, 2014 > present version of the GT, which is not possible without the use of different materials.

Without revealing how the output will be increased regarding the current 4.0 V8 twin-turbo engine of the AMG GT, Moers admits that the final output should be around 550hp, an increase of about 10% compared to the engines currently available with the sport car.

However we still have to wait some more time until we can find out more about this powerful version of the AMG GT, but Autoviva promises to follow all the news that surface.
