will be auctioned by the Historics at Brooklands at its fall auction on September 1. The car was ordered by a member of the Saudi Arabian Royal family and modified with a 6.35-liter V8 from the 1989 Aston Martin AMR1AMR1Aston Martin AMR1United Kingdom, 1989 > present1 photo
racecar.

While the AMR1 was never able to finish better than fourth in Group C racing against Porsches and Jaguars, its 6.35-liter V8 was powerful. In racing trim it produced around 700hp. However, to make the car reliable enough for the DB7, it was detuned to 452hp. Still that is 118hp more than the DB7's stock supercharged 3.2-liter straight six produced. It is also more powerful than the later DB7 V12 VantageDB7 VantageAston Martin DB7 VantageUnited Kingdom, 1999 > present2 photos
that had 430hp.

To fit the engine, the modifier had to create a hood bulge that gives away its powerful heart. The suspension, steering and brakes were all also modified to deal with the increase in power.

The car has 3,220 miles on it, and Historics at Broolands expects it to sell for between £70,000 and £80,000.
