Someone at Bentley must have thought that the EXP 9 F SUV was a good idea because it is pushing forward with the powertrain for the incredibly ugly concept SUV. It also brought an example to the auto show in Beijing to gauge reaction.
Bentley says that the truck would use a 6.0l, twin turbocharged W12 with 600hp and 800Nm of torque mated to an eight-speed automatic. However, because it is still a concept Bentley is still considering other engines as well. It is possible that the EXP 9 F could use a 500hp, 4.0l V8 or a V6 plug-in hybrid with a 30km electric range and CO2 emissions below 130g/km of CO2. Even with this engine, Bentley claims that the truck would accelerate to 100km/h in five seconds or less.
“We are very excited by the potential of a high performance, ultra-luxury Bentley SUV. Since we first showed EXP 9 F at Geneva, the response has been overwhelming. Everyone seems to agree that an SUV is a natural fit for Bentley. An exciting range of drivetrain options including a hybrid V6 are under active consideration but one thing is for sure, any Bentley SUV would offer the thunderous performance for which the marque is renowned,” said Bentley Chairman Wolfgang Dürheimer, Formatted and completed text.
