Chevrolet Leaving WTCC at End of Season

has announced that it will leave the World Touring Car Championship at the end of the 2012 season.  It says that it will stop because RML Group who runs the team will be pulling out of the championship. 

The team has raced for the last eight years and won back-to-back drivers' and constructors' championships in 2010 and 2011. It has racked up 59 wins in the championship.

team is leading the constructors' champion by nearly 200 points, and its drivers hold the top three positions. 

RML has a long history in touring car racing. It competed in the British Touring Car Championship until 2011 and ran the Chevrolet team in that series from 2009 to 2011. It has run the Chevrolet team in WTCC since 2005.
