Citroën unveils future SUV model in Beijing

is preparing a new SUV model for its joint-venture with Dongfeng. The French brand introduced through the C-XRCitroën C-XRFrance, 2014 > 2014 at the Beijing Motor Show, its "contemporary approach" of a model in this segment.

The C-XR design follows the traditional features of current SUV models with a wide grille with chrome trim and Citroën's chevrons on the center. Vertical LED lighting features on both sides of the vehicle, next to the large lower air intake and the fenders.

The vehicle is equipped with crossbars along the C-XR's entire length and gets double exhaust pipes at the rear. The protections along the edges of the body give a more robust look to the concept.

To maximize interior space, the C-XR received the longest wheelbase in the SUV segment, according to Citroën, with 2650mm. The vehicle also gets 17-inch wheels fitted with all-weather tires.

The C-XR was equipped with Citroën's THP 160 petrol engine and combined with an automatic gearbox and stop-start system to improve its efficiency. According to the French brand, the vehicle also includes the Grip Control technology.

There is a strong possibility that the C-XR will get a production version vehicle that can be unveiled early next year. Recall that Citroën also showed in Beijing the production version of the new DS 6WR SUV.
